Developed for the Museum of Science and Industry’s after school programs, Mission To Mars is a recreation of a tool used as part of a collaboration with NASA and external learning centers, remade as an iOS and WebGL application. Users are assigned to one of three teams: launch, rover explanation, and habitation. Then they must make choices about what tools to use and what choices to make to create the ideal situation. Then, they propose their results to an actual NASA astronaut, and participate in a conversation about what it takes to plan a space mission.
