Mission to Mars Standalone iPad Game

Lead Developer

Developed for the Museum of Science and Industry, Challenger Learning, and NASA, this application is a standalone iPad game is a standalone adaptation of a previous educational program where children are tasked with planning their own expidition to Mars. Players, seperated into teams, are each given a specific task in each stage of planning: launch, rover exploration, and habitation.

Players must choose from various options to accomplish the stage (e.g. designing a launch vehicle, equipping a rover for a specific task, finding the best resources for colonization on Mars), and then submit their results for evalution. This project takes the previous build, developed for the web with online management, and adapted it to feature the same functionality but exist as a standalone iPad application without the need for internet connection.
