Future Energy Chicago Information Display

Lead Developer/Designer

Developed for the Museum of Science and Industry, this display was designed to provide information regarding the Future Energy Chicago exhibit. The display dynamically cycles between various information based on the current state of the timed exhibit, informing users of showtimes, availability, and open entry. The display communicates with the museum’s main ticketing in order to find all scheduled times, and displays information for the next showtime. The display is also able to communicate with the show’s programming in order to show information for when the exhibit is in a looping state, allowing users free entry into the exhibit.

The display was developed using Spinetix software with customized Javascript and SVG files to allow for a dynamic display rotation. It runs off a SpinetiX HMP200 box, which communicates with Apache servers on a local Linux machine as well as a remote Windows machine for necessary information.
